So here’s a sneak-peek for you wonderful people. Tomorrow we’ve got an official notice going out about some additional special guests who’ll be attending SPX 2012.
If you’ve been keeping score you already know we’ll be bringing Chris Ware and Dan Clowes to the show in September. Well, thanks to our fine friends at Fantagraphics, those two distinguished gentlemen will be joined by another pair of comics royalty.
In celebration of 30 years of Love and Rockets, we’re very proud to have Gilbert and Jamie Hernandez both attending SPX 2012.
First time this century that Ware, Clowes and the Hernandez brothers area all going to be at the same festival and this is the only East Coast show Gilbert and Jamie are doing in 2012.
So the “real” world finds out tomorrow but we’re telling you guys tonight!

i was planning on going back to my home town to attend SPX this coming year, like i have every year since like…..99? but this isn’t small press.
this is ware and clowes and hernandez, and it has nothing to do with those dudes’ work, but come on, i go for the mini comics, not the fucking $90 box sets of shit. save that for comic con or something. last year was such a cluster-fuck trying to look at the actual small press tables to pick up some new mini comics or talk to an artist that’s up and coming when people were lining up to get signatures or shoulder checking me to make sure they got a good spot in line.
every year it’s just more and more books with barcodes on the back and fewer and fewer self published pieces. i guess i just don’t have to fly home for it this year.
